Playmobil Launches Reusable Anti-Covid Masks For Public

Playmobil launches flexible plastic masks that can be washed and reused. They are available in three different sizes (S, M and L) to fit both adults and children. The German brand plans to produce 1 million copies, which will be sold for €4.99.

A month ago, Playmobil made plastic masks available to its employees around the world in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The success of these masks convinced the toy manufacturer to make them available to the general public.

The plastic injection specialist uses this material to make protective covers that are held in place with a rubber band.

These masks, which give you a Darth Vader look, are available in sizes S, M and L. Everyone can choose the size they think suits them, both adults and children.

The German group Brandstätter, owner of the brand, has announced its intention to produce one million copies and has announced that for each sale in France, one euro will be donated to the Restos du Coeur.

Reusable Masks

These Playmobil masks have the particularity of being flexible, easily washable and reusable.

The brand nevertheless specifies that “it is not a medical device (surgical masks), nor filtering masks meeting the FFP2 standards”, and for the moment, the authorities have not yet pronounced on the validity of the mask.

To be effective, Playmobil allows a filter to be added. As you might have guessed, a plastic mask alone is useless. The product comes with ten absorbent sheets.

The brand states that you can also use tissues that have to be replaced every 10 hours.

The mask itself should be cleaned “thoroughly with hot water and washing-up liquid”. It is already possible to order it on the brand’s website for 4.99 €.
